My buddy Ethan Gordon did a photo shoot a last summer and the picture wound up on the cover of Saltwater Sportsman. The real star of course is that big striped bass! One day last summer, one of my best clients, John Clancy, brought his family for an afternoon trip. I’d heard the fishing off Monomoy, over by Chatham, was really hot, so we shot across 25 miles of water to get there only to find a slack tide. I put the kids ashore to blow off some steam til the tide came around, and by 5:00 pm the tide had turned and these patent angler’s were doubling up every pass with 40 inch trophy sized striped bass.

I’ve been pretty fortunate to get to know some of the New England Patriots who love to fish, and I usually take them out a few times over the summer. Here are some of the fellas and the big fish they’ve caught:

One of my favorite times in the summer is when the Desmond and White Families are in town from Maryland and California. We usually hit the striped bass hard a few times, and I’ve watched their great kids grow up over the years. They love to fish and we have a great time. Now they’re excited about my bigger boat and the opportunity to go out farther for some tuna fishing.
